About Maia

My practice is informed by a service-oriented mindset. In cultivating long-term relationships with clients, my commitment revolves around trust, respect, and demonstrated results. My clients’ goals sincerely matter to me and, whether a sizable case or smaller matter, they can rely on me to provide a thorough, well-researched, and honest evaluation of their unique situation. I was raised by the adage that “you catch more flies with honey than vinegar.” Despite the inherently adversarial nature of litigation, my calm and professional demeanor allows me to foster collegial relationships with those around me, leading to better outcomes for my clients, even in the most challenging situations. 

I commenced my legal career as a Staff Attorney at the Washington State Department of Health. In this non-traditional role, I honed my skills in evaluating complaints related to healthcare facilities. This experience provided me with a solid foundation in analyzing intricate legal and ethical issues, interpreting and applying the law, and negotiating creative and equitable solutions that protected the public while also recognizing the high stakes involved for all parties. At Holmquist & Gardiner, I focus primarily on construction, real estate, and business litigation. Leveraging my specialized knowledge in regulatory compliance, I also have the insight to assist clients with licensure, permitting, and enforcement action defense.  

Originally hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada, I moved to the Pacific Northwest in search of a cooler, rainier climate. Outside of work I enjoy reading, playing strategy games, and exploring the city with my dog, Eureka, in tow.
